We should sample this while it still exists for use as convolution robot.

Ok i figured it out.

I turned off and unplugged my Digi 002 from the firewire port.

Then I installed PTLE 8.

I then ran the updater for 8.0.3 (Digi still unplugged)

Then I deleted the Audio Drivers for 8.0.3 (Its going to tell you to do that when you run the next step)

I then ran the audio driver updater 8.0.4b

After all that when I restarted and ran pro tools it asked me to turn it on. At that point I plugged it in and it runs perfect.

PTLE8 does officially run on Windows 7 64-bit

By perfect do you mean you can run large sessions (50+ tracks 150+ plug-ins and 8-12 VIs) with low buffer settings like we can in XP? I haven't been able to do that without distortion on W7 64.

Hey, I was having a similar problem, but with my Mbox 2. I have the 8.0.4 driver installed. I have the robotic static noise on all my playback through PT. If I unplug my usb from the Mbox 2 and replug it in sometimes it starts working and sounds normal. Sometimes I have to do it about 5 - 10 times though. Do you know why this would happen and how come unplugging it and replugging it in several times would make it work all of the sudden? Very strange.

Robotic sound appears for me in PT 7.4 sometimes, and I solve just changing the H/W buffer size. But I don't know PT8, and don't know if it's the same problem.

There are times when this can help with all versions... Usually not.
