This situation is terrible. Digi, please make the ASIO driver available as seperate download. I don't want to upgrade to 6.1 yet. I just want the ASIO driver! Please!

I believe you need to use the right DAE DLL version with the new ASIO driver.. so if you had the wrong DLL and Pro Tools combo it won't work.. hence no current download of the ASIO driver as it would make your current Pro Tools 5.x non functional.

I could be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure the new ASIO driver will require the PT 6.1 DAE DLL which doesn't work with PT 5.x.

I have a feeling you are right on this. I'm extremely miffed.
I have been waiting patiently for the new ASIO driver since Feb, thinking the final version would come as an upgrade for the beta driver. I hardly ever use PTLE, it's useful to have, but Cubase SX is my preffered choice.
I'm annoyed that Digi ever made an Asio driver. If they hadnt I wouldnt have bought a Digi002 and my frustrations wouldnt exist!
Now I'm forced to pay for what to me, is essentially an Asio upgrade. Damn you Digi, you have really dissapointed me. Guess I'll email the support address and see what reply I get. Grumble!

I am still hoping Digidesign will release a ASIO driver, as a downloadable version for people without Protools 6.1 !

Could a moderator please respond to this thread? It's very important for me and perhaps a few others. I resent being an ASIO guinea pig for 6 months and then being told I have to pay to upgrade to 6.1 to get the benefits of the new ASIO driver.
Thankyou!
