I'd hope every Avid customer would be understanding about a break in updates. But it does break a kind of contract - the product is sold on the basis of ongoing updates (perpetual license holders of PT Ultimate pay $399 for these). I'd hope that, in good faith, Avid HQ would roll on these contracts for the length of time that no updates have been possible.
My perpetual update plan will be expiring shortly. Is there still a 30-day grace period to renew (there may be more info by then)?

I mean, sure... it is nothing compared to the tragedy of not having Avid Pro Compressor available on your shiny new $3000 MacBook Pro. No doubt the delay it will cause in delivering those banging tunes to your 13 soundcloud subscribers will go down as one of the greatest crimes ever committed against humanity.
Yes, a little perspective. Thank you.

I would think a successful company like Avid would have had native M1 support before a company like Presonus & Ableton .
Its not like Avid didn't get M1 preliminary software & hardware to start development prior to its release.
and yes I know you can run it in Rosetta 2.

I feel sorry for all the people affected by this war. The Russian public sentiment is not supporting this war and it sucks that they are also victims of this truly mad & evil dictator.

Personally I expect more from Avid and for what is charged, but then again there are plenty of great choices for DAWs out there nowadays.

Pro Tools has a lot more baggage and larger supportive ecosystem that has to migrate than Presonus or Ableton. And serious professionals depend on it (yes, yes, you can do music, etc on Presonus or Ableton but billion dollar movies rely on Pro Tools; whole departments and companies)
And as has been mentioned, iLok native support (just officially released) is necessary for Pro Tools.

Don’t expect a native M1 Pro Tools until the end of 2022 IMO. I would have expected the Complete Bundle and an official certification for PT under Rosetta by the end of this month. That was before Russia decided to destroy Ukraine. So now ????

Avid has always been slow to "support" new OS versions although Pro Tools has often been more solid on unsupported new systems than competition claiming "support."
