Default Upgrade Question

I am considering purchasing a a new, unregistered copy of Pro Tool 9. Though it's a year after the fact, would such a purchase qualify me for the free upgrade to v10? The page here: http://www.avid.com/US/products/pro-tools-software seems to suggest that is does, but I know these things are sometimes subject to change. Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

Yes, if it is new and unregistered, you will get PT10.

The avid store is selling an upgrade from PT9 to 10 for 299. You may wanna call them to be sure.

As long as it's a new copy, he'll be fine.

Authorized dealers aren't allowed to sell PT9, my guess is that this is from someone off Ebay.

In which case you may want to absolutely verify that the authorization code hasn't already been used.

Hah, no it's actually a friend of mine who was given it as a gift, but has never used it. He's had it well over a year though, so I wasn't sure if the grace period for discounted/free updates had expired.

Thanks everyone!
