96I/O accepting superclock??
Hi.
I'm trying to send superclock from a MOTU MTPAV to a 96I/O and while it syncs fine at 1x, if I enable the digi superclock in the MTPAV, my ProTools system loses sync and doesn't recover until I disable superclock again. Any ideas on what could be the problem here? Does the 96I/O accept superclock? Thanks, Jamey |

Re: 96I/O accepting superclock??
It only uses 1x WC (superclock can't work above 48kHz).

Re: 96I/O accepting superclock??
Thanks for the reply. I thought the 96I/O would for sure support 256. In the 96I/O manual, it states in the unit's feature list:
"Word Clock input and output for syncronizing 96I/O with external Word Clock or 256x (Slave Clock) devices." I tried to misinterprate this statement as loosly as possible, but it still tells me that this unit supports superclock. -Jamey |

Re: 96I/O accepting superclock??
Hmm. perhaps you're right .. check out page 3 of your getting started with HD guide (the manual is very ambiguous about this)... if the 96 I/O can be switched to 256x it'd have to be set in the Hardware Setup page of pro Tools.
256x clock though only works up to 48kHz. Rail

Re: 96I/O accepting superclock??
Hmmm. It looks like HD got rid of 256x (or superclock, whatever you prefer) functionality. I wonder why? Wasn't it far superior to a standard wordclock signal? For my purposes, I don't really work at 96K so I was just hoping to use it for laybacks and such in 48K, but I want to be able to do it in the best way possible.
Maybe what this means is that it can OUTPUT 256x but can no longer sync to it? -Jamey |

Re: 96I/O accepting superclock??
Trying to get 256x 192,000 hertz (49.152 MHz) down a piece of wire reliably without phase and jitter problems would be an issue
