Acid vs Abelton ?
Moved from PC to Powerbook, and have used Acid for a while... have many Acid cd's etc... My options appear to be Virtual PC, or Live..
Has anyone made this move, or at least looked at the trade off's... I have just downloaded the live demo, so any pointers would be welcome... Thanks

Re: Acid vs Abelton ?
I was also once a pc guy, and was using Acid quite regularely when deadline work was at hand. I recently purchased Live 2.0, one of the best investments I've ever made. It's very similar, but I find it even more flexible than Acid ever was. I also use Live as a mutlitracker, recording my synths and guitars into it as I would in PT. It's simply a beautiful program, very clean and uncluttered, wonderful effects, and most of all, Rewire compatible, which as you may know, will be a great addition to PT in the very near future.

Re: Acid vs Abelton ?
Yes, you can use any wav/aiff samples, acidized or not. When I let go of the pc, it's because I really wanted to let go. I have no desire to install an application that would make my Mac act like a pc. Ableton has been great so far and it does have a few quirks that irk me, but future upgrades look promising, such as mp3 and Vsti support. You can only use Vst effects for the time being, not the instruments.

Re: Acid vs Abelton ?
I also crossed over fro pc to mac,and also used Acid on a daily basis. I now use Bitheadz Phrazer which is Acid for Mac, what's great about it is that it reads Acidized loops.
