the bounce is too soft

im a newby with pro tools
when i bounce a pro tools project to disk (.wav). It always comes out much softer than it sounds through the mbox interface. I know there is someway of messing with it so its volume has the same loudness in comparison with other songs. but how?

How are you listening to it after the bounce? Still via the mbox? Or are you listening to it from your Mac/PCs built-in sound card. If so, how can the two two be compared accurately.

EQ on individual tracks to provide clarity with mixing.

Compression on individual tracks to increase perceived "volume" when mixing.

Compression and limiting on the stereo master bus while mastering.
