The red ban symbol on Quicktime?

Does some one Know a solution for activating QuickTime Music. I downloaded the free version of QuickTime MIDI and I assume this will provide the internal MIDI sounds I need,correct me if I am wrong. I really need some help on this so I can start making some recordings. I have made several other postings yet I have only received one response and so far nothing has worked.
