Default Questions about updating to 2021.7 HDX

I have a few questions:

1. I'm on a iMac i9 running Catalina and Protools 2020.9.0 HDX. I'm getting 128 tracks at 88.2. Can I update to 2021.7 with no issues?

2. 2021.7 runs with Catalina? Will it give me 256 tracks at 88.2?

3. I have the Ultimate Subscription so I have the uodate available, is the update smooth?

Greetings,

Yes, Pro Tools 2021.7 is fully qualified with macOS Catalina - specifically 10.15.7. More information is here:

Standard Pro Tools now supports 256 mono or stereo tracks at all sample rates.
Pro Tools Ultimate supports 2048 audio tracks at all rates.

best,

Jeff

Updated to 2021, perfect and a fast instal. Runs great 2048 tracks. It's doesn't seem to be using the HDX card really. Not sure but it's rockin.

Glad to hear it. With the Hybrid engine, DSP resources are allocated on demand when you start bringing tracks into DSP mode including by leveraging the preference to automatically enable DSP mode for tracks in Input or Record.

best,

Jeff

Is there any issue when using MTRX interface with Update PT or newer OS?

Its no risk updating as long as you have a backup plan
