Default VOTE: Rack-Mount Digi002!!!

Hi there folks, listen to what there's been talk about in the HD forum

Quote from Mr. Haze
"I'm also hearing that there will be a rackmount version of the 002 (for those that don't need the control thingy)."

Great, I don't need the surface at all, what I need is better pres (2 or 4), converters, and cheaper price. You can buy the Digi001 for U$650, and U$2000 for digi002 is really a long shot(way).

I want digi002 without the surface control but for a lot cheaper. And a Digi001 user trade in.

Count my Vote for a Rack version!
Cheers

I was looking on the Digi 002 page and didn't see any info on a rack-mounted version without the controller. Has anybody seen anything official about it?

A rack version would be cool. Especially if it had more I/O - analog I/O that is. How useful is the ADAT lightpipe anyway? I got rid of my ADAT long ago.

A rack version with no control surface would be great IMO. I'm totally comfortable mixing with a mouse (trackball actually) and don't really have the space for a mixer-like thingie in my tiny room. I would love to ditch the stupid PCI card 001 interface for a simple 1394 interface. I don't care at all about the 4 mic pres or 96k, but I suppose they're nice features to have.

Digidesign moderators have been great so far today answering a lot of questions about specs, upgrades, etc. Thank you. Let's see if they can answer this one definitely once and for all, as there has been a lot of speculation and rumor. Will there be a rackmount version of DIGI 002 and if so when and how much? Thank you.

The only reason i'd want a rackmount 002 would be so I can ditch my PC and setup a Titanium Powerbook rig using the 002 over firewire.
