The Mbox is strictly a 2 channel A/D and D/A....A pretty nice one too....

In DP you are only limited by your CPU and hard drive. I just finished a 48 track mix with 16 aux busses, 24 plugs in 24 bit on a TiBook 800....By the way, I mixed through an Mbox.

I was shocked...I was just gonna do a rough and 8 hours later I was putting the finishing touches on it. I usually mix in the room with the 02R's so I can use the onboard dynamics and eq to take a load off my CPU, (the studio CPU is a G3/350, when are those G4 1 Ghz ZIF upgrades coming out?) I have a 2408 Mk II so I have 24 outs into the 02R, I also have an Eventide H3000 and I use the Jo Meek VC 1 and Avalon 737 SP on certain tracks as well...So in my first final mix from the TiBook, I got by without any outboard processing. The only thing I missed was that H3000...the chorus on that box is amazing! Can someone make a nice plug with H3000 emulation please?

OK. I've decided to make the move. My last question is... I know I can bounce my 001 files to disk and open them in digital performer however, Is there a way to retain the track editabilaty with all my tracks? I don't think I can be inspired enough to finish all the unfished projects I have with my 001 system before I move to the 828 and DP!

Anyone know about this? Are PTLE files completely proprietary?

Thanks for all the good info.

DB

P.S. Anyone need a used 001 sytem?
