Default Looking at plasma

All,
I was in the market for 3 of the DELL flat panels. Doing some searching..... This looks like it may be a cheaper and much more "PRO" way to go. I blame Scott at Dragonfly too, but..... has anyone had experience using a PC with a plasma?

This is what I am considering.

SAMSUNG

Let me know...

The TV version can be a pain to integrate sometimes...and I imagine you'd actually be a bit dissappointed with the resolution considering it's size (I think it's something like 800x600 ).

This is probably their best for video out right now.

This and this are probably the largest and baddest designed specifically for integration with a computer.

But, the prices are way up there, and they aren't plasma.

CRT technology is still streets ahead of any flat screen. The resolution, the lag, and how big a screen you get for your money...

Unless money is no problem.

Get two flat screen CRTs, I say.

Will do. But looking at monitor prices flat screens seem to be about three times that of CRTs, and you have to go higher in price just to match quality.

BTW resolution isn't just about how many pixels x pixels, but also the dot pitch (the actual sharpness of that pixel). .24 and below is what you should aim for. Good flat screen CRTs look amazing these days.

Alright!
For the record.... I already have 2 19" CRT flats, and 1 21" CRT flat monitor. They are great, and I run them all but...... way too damn big! I am trying to get streamlined with the monitor setup. I may have to resort to the 20.1 wide aspect monitors that DELL has. The look sweet and are in the price point. The only thing I was considering was that for 3 of them at 719 a pop, I could buy the 42" and look sweet as hell. I too am a graphics guy by trade and use all the apps for that. I understand that CRT's will always be crisper than the plasmas, and the LCD's at least for now. I just want to conserve space. If I have to keep the big ole' boat anchors I will, but the flat panels will look killer.

Then it's a personal thing-

money, space, quality, who you want to impress (a serious consideration)...

Well Doc, those are all the right reasons to be looking for a flat panel LCD or plasma. (i vote for sticking with samsung though...who makes dell's monitors?)
