Default upgrading to PT 9: two hardware compatibility questions

Hello I want to upgrade/crossgrade from PT M-Powered to PT9 and have three questions/doubts:

1. I currently have an M-Audio Transit. Since PT9 is supposed to be working with all hardware, does that mean it will work with the Transit? Is there a list of supported interfaced?

2. I want to buy a PT9-supported USB audio interface that will let me record 2 mics and 2 line inputs at the same time (4 tot) and I want to buy whatever the smallest available. Can somebody recommend something that will work with PT9?

3. Since PT9 will work without hardware, can you also use the MacBook Pro mic input to record line level stuff?

Thanks for your help

This is the most ridiculously looking piece of craftsmanship, I've ever seen.

The request was 4 inputs in a small package. The Mbox will do 4, but you need another A/D for the SPDIF input. Not so compact.

Here are a couple of options:
MOTU

Tascam

The newest Mbox Pro would be nice, but not so small. Presonus Firestudio Mobile is another choice.
