If you are running this version of PT on a 2010 Mac Pro (seen in your signature) perhaps it is related to (11 year old) computer?

serious suggestion.

I'm on a 2020 MacPro. just as a data point.

also I'm doing just fine having sold a few of my internal organs to pay for it. Luckily.

I've been checking this thread from time to time but not reading every post. Can someone please chime in and tell me if 2021.6 is stable enough to update? I have a 2020 Intel iMac running Big Sur 11.2.3 and currently on PT 2021.3.1.

thanks
any luck with getting a previous version? it's sluggish for me too. spinning wheel often, clip gain enlarges waveform in a jumpy way.

I'd say no. Lots of Big Sur and M1 users are clearly having serious problems that weren't present in 2021.3.1. A few other MacOS users reporting some issues, but nothing like the same scale it seems to me. I don't think there's been a single negative report for Windows users (how times change)

I wish it was that simple, but there are too many reports of this issue and I've seen it on a couple of other macs too. Not sure what the common thread is, but Avid did something that isn't playing well. The 5,1 you're referring to runs flawlessly on other versions. Seems like a lot of people are having strange problems ranging from sluggish behavior to crashes. Maybe the next update will help.

Same here, no issues on W10. No noticeable improvement in CPU draw, though, as some have reported. I still get the occasional overload when doing lots of quick edits on video projects with low buffer settings.

To make sure I understand. When you freeze a track, does the delay compensation just change the delay time of the plugin incorrectly or does it change the change the overall plugin's effect on the track (not just timing)? I haven't play around with this very much, but I'm not noticing the difference when freezing a track. Perhaps someone more experienced with this process can chime in and verify.

2021.6 been running fine on my Mac with MacOS Mojave, no beach balls.

Anyone else noticed that they changed the pan slider in Edit window? It used to be a circle, now it's a square!
Also noticed on my Artist Mix that when I pan all the way to the left it goes to 101.

The pan slider has been a square since PT2020.12 and maybe earlier. I like it as a square - much easier to grab.
