Not at the moment, currently using a 27" at it's native 2560X1440 Rez. I did use a 40" 4k scaled for a while as well, but I just moved and went back to my 27. Everything I do with 2021.6 feels slow, even opening the bounce window is slow. I still have 2020.11 installed and it is snappy in comparison. I wonder if it has something to do with the M1 compatibility? The first version of Logic that was M1 compatible was also sluggish on this computer. Similar issues for me, although I think PT is even worse.

Avid has responded to my case... They want me to create a video of the issue so that tells me they are completely unaware of all these threads out here with multiple people complaining.

Since I've already gone back to 2021.3 I'm going to have to fully uninstall (again) and install 2021.6.

If anyone else can PLEASE create a video and put the link in this thread, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not quite sure how i'm going to capture sluggishness with a mouse via video... I can probably do a bunch of actions on 2021.3, then do a video showing same on 2021.6

Again, any help is appreciated.

You shouldn't have to - just change the name of the 2021.3 app and then install 2021.6.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.

Thank Paul. It is good that Avid is working through this with you and made aware of the issues with the sluggish GUI.

UPDATE:

When I upgraded to 2021.6 from .3, I just did an upgrade install. I never cleanly removed the previous version.

While making the videos, I decided I would do one video while I was still on 2021.3 to show everything working fine.

Despite taking some shortcuts and just renaming the Pro Tools app, and installing 2021.6;

1.) I decided to do a complete uninstall of 2021.3 following Avid's instructions and then rebooted my iMac:

https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...uninstall-PT11

NOTE: BE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR PLUGINS...

2.) I did a complete fresh install of PT 2021.6 and then rebooted my iMac after. I launched PT and accepted the "install Helper"

3.) I recovered my plugins from a backup.

All issues went away. The only sticky movement was the sliders on the new Color Palette. The meters were no longer choppy, edit selection within a track was smooth...

So my suggestion to everyone having issues is please do a clean uninstall, (make sure you backup your Plugs), and reinstall cleanly and restore your plugs.

I'm going to stay on 2021.6 now considering it's running smoothly and I will update Avid accordingly

Ok. Did the uninstall, and reinstalled only 2021.6. It is better for sure. No spinning beach ball yet, still not as snappy as previous versions. Also, still seeing the black boxes occasionally.

Spoke to soon...the beachballs are back. Happens when adjusting plugins, scrolling the mixer, doing edits, etc.
