Default Logic board - damaged by HD cards or sync or io?

Hi, first time post

Having a nightmare week with a busy film schedule on the go.

Twice in a week I have had a logic board die on me.

Has anyone lost more than one logic board in quick succession (mac pro 4 core with hd2, sync, 96 io, control 24)
Everything else has been tested - drives, ram etc. Power supply is safe, ups and surge protection.

Can pro tools hardware cause physical damage to a mac logic board or ram? Electrical or other?

Too scared to plug another machine in!

help
