PT 6.4 w/mbox crashing on new install (please help)

Hello all. I am a long time PT user but new to the forum.

I have owned an MBOX for many years, and have purchased PT 6.4 and PT 7.0 separately. A few weeks ago my trusty system stopped working. I am having serious USB issues (system recognizes mouse/kybd but no drives and digi drivers are no longer working). I tried all types of driver troubleshooting to no avail and use the same workstation for my home business so I can't afford to format it now. I can't find my PT discs but have my serials written down. I managed to download a copy of 7.4 that is in DMG format which I can't open on my pc. I also found a copy of 6.4 from digidesign's website that I have installed but crashes at launch every time. I also bought a new p4 2.8ghz desktop just for protools that installed the 6.4 sw and crashes every time I try to open the sw. After installing 6.4, the mbox works great with FL Studio so I know the drivers installed.

I also installed the 6.4 cs9 pack and it still crashes at launch everytime.

Anyone have a suggestion? I have had to cancel several sessions with out of town bands and am seriously losing friends. I don't need frills, just a dependable PT rig for recording and light mixing.

Update your PACE drivers from www.paceap.com

Perhaps you should consider making backups once you find them? Or seriously consider spending the $15 for the 7.0 installer disc from the Digistore? (then make a backup of it)

That's because that would be the mac installation version.

As far as I am aware, there are no full version downloads of 7.x that you can download without having to have purchased it for download in the first place.

No offense is intended here, but if you're going to rely on any computer related product for both money making and reputation, you should seriously consider better maintenance and software organizational procedures, such as using backup software to clone a working machine so that you can get back up and running in less than an hour, and at least knowing where your installation disks are.
