Digi002R firewire light has gone off?
I had established firewire connection for my newly purchased (2nd hand) 002R - but I had the wrong software version (PT 6.1 LE) for the version of the Mac OS I am currently using (V10.3.7).
I have downloaded PT LE 6.4, and it seems to load up OK, but it cannot find the digidesign hardware. Now I had this device communicating because I could setup the AMS MIDI settings previously. I dunno when the light went out (1394 light) but it is no longer communicating. Powering off, changing firewire cables, etc etc does nothing. Oh, and plugging in the cable makes the "link" light on the back light up for a second, then it goes out. I guess I may have put the mac to sleep manually, without turning off the 002R when I was dicking around going to another faster computer to DL the 6.4 update. Would this stuff things up??? Why is this stuff so touchy? Other hardware interfaces seem to work fine in these environments? BTW - I tried searching for an answer but the search function in this forum is rubbish! Getting frustrated.... (as you can probably tell). Is there a way to force connection using software? Any help is really appreciated. Tube

Re: Digi002R firewire light has gone off?
Search "Power Harness" in the LE Mac forum (PC would work too i'm sure) and select subject only and 1 year for results history.

Re: Digi002R firewire light has gone off?
OK - finally I have a functioning system!
I did as many have done on this board and opened up the 002R and toggled the power supply leads to each of the circuit boards. Everything seems stable (for now). I opened up the demo PT session and recorded some guitar. yeehar up up and away....... thanks Tube

Re: Digi002R firewire light has gone off?
I am having the same exact problem only with windows xp,
I just turned on my digi002 rack after two months and its all 'f'd up! You say you opened up the unit and fiddled with the circuit boards? and that fixed the problem? |

Re: Digi002R firewire light has gone off?
yeah, just took the lid off, and where the power supply (not the power "leads" from the plug but the big square thing on the side) leads come out to each of the circuit boards...you just pull them out CAREFULLY! and re-seat them.
again, be careful, the plugs are pretty flimsy IMO it's bloody dodgy this has to happen on a fairly expensive piece of gear IMO!
