help installing PT 9 crossgrade -ilokked out

Where on earth is the help section for fresh installations?
I cant find the word crossgrade anywhere.

I have PT9 box / crossgrade from 7.4
hung up on ilok authorization
have new ilok - new account working and empty online
my purchase from Avid store does not show up in "my account" even though i bought a box crossgrade to PT9 and an ilok 2 from Avid.

how to i get the auth code generated from the serial on the box?
---and get it into the ilok so i can boot?

I did not load 7.4 under the PT upgrade disc.

If you're crossgrading from an LE system, at some point you would need to enter the serial number of the LE hardware you have (003, Mbox 2, etc.).

Also, once you get the box, I think it should have a yellow card with it that has an activation code. You would enter that code here, I'm pretty sure:

to clarify:
i have an activation code - came on a card in the PT9 box
i need to find a way to get it into the ilok or have it submitted to ilok by avid?

how does one go from activation code to ilok?

You need to create an account at iLok.com
You don't need an iLok to do that.
You then include your iLok login name along with the serial number from your Mbox2/002/003 during the registration/activation process.
That's how the iLok asset gets to your iLok account.
Then you download the license to your iLok by logging into your account with the iLok attached to your internet computer.

Step ONE

First, make sure you have an iLok account. You will need to know your iLok user name for the next step

Log into your Avid account. Click on the Activate and download your product link.

You will be taken to a page where you will enter the Activation Code that was on the card in the box. You will then be asked to enter the Serial Number from your Avid/Digidesign interface along with your iLok user name. You'll then get a message informing you that your iLok license is ready to be downloaded.

Plug in your iLok and go to www.ilok.com and you will be able to download the license to your iLok...

Nobody ever mentioned that i had to find the original registration card that shipped in the 003 rack box to find my registration ID# POSTCARD
and all of my authorization codes are not for the ilok.

and the serial # for the 003 printed on the regisration card is NOT the same as the sticker on the unit so the unit # will not work.

Nobody mentions that the website automatically handles the ilok registration of protools when data is input correctly.
