Avid not shipping PT9 until December..WTF?

I emailed Avid support last night about when I could expect to see my order I placed last Friday for PT9. Here is the reply I got this morning:

"We regret to inform, that we just got news from AVID directly, that this
products will be shipped from the 30 th of november an on."

WTF????

Is this person mistaken, or has Avid totally dropped the ball on this?

I ordered the crossgrade, so it has nothing to do with ilok. I'm hoping someone from Avid will chime in here and tell us what is going on.

Meanwhile, I have asked to cancel my order, and I will just buy the download instead.

If this is just the crossgrade I agree, just do the download. That will also place it in your store account.

FWIW I dont think that its actually been confirmed that the boxed version is shipping with the new iLok. It may well ship with the old style iLok. In fact if the new iLok is actually in the 159.00 range I would be suprised if it ships with the new one. Most people don't need the capacity of 700 licenses or want to pay a 79.00 premium.

Where have you seen the new iLok for sale? I can't even find it online. Some folks confirmed their HD systems came with the new iLok, so it must be production at this point.
