Thanks, got it to work but now I can't even playback because of the dreaded -9403 error. "Running out of CPU power, Elastic Audio could not keep up. Please disable it."

Why should I disable it when I NEED it?. Never ran out of CPU power with 7.4

And now I'm getting error -9473 "decrease the H/W Buffer size or increase the DAE playback buffer size." When I do that I get the -9403 error again. I can't even playback my once very playable songs. My number counter is also very herky-jerky.

What's up with PT8???? I thought it was supposed to be more CPU friendly and give me the ability to even use more tracks without problems. At this rate I'm going back to PT7.4

I found I had to make some adjustments in the 'hardware' menu with cpu usage to smooth out playback and a jerky playback cursor. Went down to 85% and it seemed to help.

Try messing with that and some of the other variables on the hardware page.

Have you tried any of the General Troubleshooting steps? Can you give us more information on your system, per the instructions in the Help Us Help You thread, so that we can take a look at possible solutions for you?

I know this is the not usual forum for me (I'm Mac HD).

But I just switched to 8 from 7.4 and this is exactly the case with me. After doing a fresh install of everything on virgin drives.

I cannot play back any large band session without 9403 and etc... and crashing my mac. And the only way to make it better was remove elastic audio from my system. And that is no longer an option.

Did you ever figure it out?
