Default I/O settings

If I want PT 10 to be used mare as a recorder & mix on my DM-4800 board via fire wire, how should I configure the IO settings?

That's a wide-open question since there are so many ways you can do the routing on the 4800. With mine, I used the first 24 channels for preamps going into Pro Tools, the next 30 for outputs from Pro Tools, and the other 10 for various inputs from pc, effects returns, etc. Spend a lot of time reading the manual and figuring out what your needs are. It can be overwhelming!

I'm mixing from the Tascam DM 4800 using the IF-FW/DM mkII interface card via slot 1 firewire into my PC. Pro tools 10.
I want to use Pro tools as a multi track recorder & want to bus any channel to any track and monitor the tracks into Ch 25 - 48 on the DM.

Word you happen to have a screen shot of the I/O settings for that?
Thanks

No, actually I sold my DM 4800 - loved it, but needed the money. What you're describing though is pretty much the standard setup for the 4800. Do you have a copy of the manual? It's all explained in there. You can download it from Tascam's website.

Yes, I've read & refered to the manual. I'm going to try to reinstall PT tomorrow.

Ok - why are you reinstalling Pro Tools?

Just to see if it fixes the issues. I really need a snapshot of the I/O settings for the application I'm using it for. I'm hoping someone will understand what I mean.
