S3L Venue 4.5.3 update
Hey everyone. Our S3L is on 4.5.2, and I realized that it needs to be on 4.5.3 in order to update to 4.6. I looked everywhere on Avid's website, I checked our Avid account, and there is no update file for 4.5.3. Avid's website had a survey I could complete to get the 4.5.3 file, but that didn't work, I tried twice. I contacted Avid and they haven't helped me yet. Does anyone have a download file for 4.5.3 that you could share with me?
Thank you! |

Re: S3L Venue 4.5.3 update
Quote:
4.6 VENUE Update only supports upgrading from 4.5.3. But 4.6 Restore can be installed on top of any version. Of course, you must already have at least 4.5, because 4.1 to 4.5 upgrade includes HW changes. So just download 4.6 Restore (which is quite big - 2.5GB) and use it. P.S. And better wait 1 more day before doing it |

Re: S3L Venue 4.5.3 update
Sorry to resurrect, but I have the same issue.
My Avid restore stick loads 4.0.0.606, - this is fine - but I cannot get 4.5.3 from Avid as yet. I opened a support case, but no reply so far. At the moment I cannot get the 4.6.1 restore iso file to boot from the usb stick the system reports "no Operating System" - though the linux bootloader is certainly there. I have tried so many combinations I'm dizzy! Is there a trick? Best, Steve |

Re: S3L Venue 4.5.3 update
Hi All, Support have sorted me out.
For others - its a simple thing. You have to make the USB stick bootable using Rufus.exe, which is included in the "additional flies" folder. Put a blank stick in, and Rufus automatically finds it and fills in the details. Towards the bottom of the window theres a tickbox, "make bootable using". The default is FreeDOS, but you need to load the .iso file with the 4.6.1 restore in it here. When its done you should have a bootable stick with the restore software ready. Cheers!
