Default Unwanted horizontal zooming

Started having a weird problem a few months ago and have tried tracking it down but no luck. Sometimes when I drag a plugin from an insert on one track (in the edit screen view) to another track and especially if I option-drag the plugin I get unwanted horizontal zooming of the tracks. I'm very careful when doing this and the size of the session doesn't matter. Nor does the plugins being moved.

There's nothing that I can see in the shortcuts documentation that would cause this. I don't use the Zoomer tool and the keys for that are nowheres near the left option key that I use. I know I'm running an unsupported system - PT2021.6 and OSX 10.13.6 - could that be it? For a whole lot of reasons not germane to this discussion (so don't go there) I can't go further in OSX.

Have you tried a different mouse or trackball?

Yes I have and it still happens. A different rodent was one of the first things I already tried.

What are you talking about? There's no mention of politics anywheres in my post.

Sorry Musicman691, it was just a poorly executed joke about rodents and politics. As you were.
