I used to change to AFL when editing vocals, but even reaching up to the "Options" menu is too much of a mouse stretch for me now and so I just have all my FX returns in a folder and mute the whole folder as and when necessary.

SIP/AFL/PFL have been euconized commands almost from the beginning so they can be assigned to soft keys.

in addition, as menu items (and now custom keyboard commands) they can be assigned to key commands.

In my case, I've always kept my Eucon Surfaces on a different solo mode than the edit/mix windows. For the S1/S3/Dock, that's in the Eucontrol preferences. On the S6, it's in the User menu system.

And the Eucontrol pref can also be toggled by making a soft key.

No menu diving needed.
