Default Anyone using a PCI-E firewire card to connect their audio interface?

Ive come to the conclusion that my fire-wire ports are not working on my machine. I want to purchase a pci-e fire-wire card for my computer but I'm concerned with compatibility issues. Is anyone connected their audio interface with an pci-e fire-wire card? If so which do you have or what do you recommend?

I highly recommend Sonnet: http://www.sonnettech.com/product/co...rds/index.html

Really excellent Mac Support. I have one of their Express64 Cards for extra Firewire ports and is very stable with ProTools and my external drives.

If you have any questions about Sonnet please feel free to give me a call.

I have a similar system to yours. I bought a fairly generic PCIe card from OWC. Here's a link to their FW card page:

I have a Focusrite Liquid Mix 16, Since the LM 16 needs a FW bus all of its own I connect it directly to the Mac. Then I bought a PCIe card with 2x FW 800 (that I attach drives to) and 1x FW 400 to which I attach the Digi 002R:
