Default Corrupt Data Base Question

Does anyone know if and when the Digidesign Data Bases become corrupt that it can cause major crashes on OS X?

And while I'm asking I might as well ask for opinions on the best software to optimize and defrag hard drives...I have Disk Warrior but am open to suggestions...

If it becomes corrupted, it may cause a crash in Pro Tools, but will not affect any other application or the OS. If you suspect they're corrupted, trash them per the info in the Setup and General Troubleshooting thread and they'll be rebuilt upon the next launch of Pro Tools.
