ist Possible to upgrade d002 from inside?

does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the built in pre's and convertors (a/d d/a) from inside the digi002? has anyone tried this, or does anyone know of a company that will upgrade the inside electronics of the Digi002 (if yes, how big of an improvement has this made), Digi 002 has great features,but it would be great to upgrade to better pre's and convertors from with in, that way it would be expanded with time, thanks for your time.

you got it man, how did you know that? come on man, the only reason im asking all these questions is because i dont know, and this is why we have this forum, and to be honest with you i saw that upgrade black lion provide and its good but i was looking for a major upgrade... Listen buddy before you start your own conclusions i want to tell you this, its becaue im realy sick of this digi hardware stuff,and only digi hardware working with digi software, and seeing that in the same price of the digi 002 mixer i can get a better setup i had my digi 002 on ebay for sale 5 days ago, i ended the auction early because i decided that i love pt tools le and the features of the digi 002 mixer, but i dont like it's quality, and this is why i asked, so please play your part in this beutiful community and stay to your self before you make anymore reply like that.

I'm leary of that Black Lion mod... I think a better idea is to add outboard converters and pre's. The goal is better sound, right? An Apogee Rosetta 800 plus high-end mic-pres will get ya there.

siga -- whoa....hold on a sec -- the inclusion of the "smiley" face ( ) in my reply was meant to communicate humor -- like, those guys must hear cash registers ringing when someone's first or second question in digi's user conference is about upgrading the pres, you might as well be on their payroll...it's funny/ironic (well, it was to me on first read....)

so -- no accusation intended -- sorry if it came across that way....

as to being unhappy with the sound of the 002 pres, there are lots of solutions for that, almost all of them outside the box (literally) which definitely won't void your warranty (not sure if black lion's stuff does or doesn't, haven't seen any official read from digidesign on that) and would ultimately give you even more flexibility. if you put different pres in the 002 box, you might be dissatisfied with the sound of those in time -- and that's why you may want to consider external pres that you can change any time your tastes and budget allow.

thanks for clearing things up.Thanks for your understanding. To be honest with you in pro tools i feel im in control of the software,in others i feel like the software is in control of me,thats way i stayed with the digi 002 and pro tools and asking to upgrade,so you guys advice me to upgrade out of the box,thanks for all the help,you guys are the best!
