Default Pro tools 9, El Capitan

I've recently bought a mac mini that is running on El Capitan. Is there a way of running Pro tools 9 on El Capitan?

Upgrade it to Pro Tools 12.3.1 (before December 31st) which is the only version El Capitan qualified.

Even with the upgrade to 12, you may or may not experience issues. Others have posted about their experience with El Capitan. My advice is, if you don't need the latest OS then maybe go with Yosemite. I would recommend a very clean install, meaning backing up your data, wiping the drive and doing a fresh install of OS X (Your choice of OS version).

I need to open some old sound designer files (.sd and .sd2). I have two Mac Book Pros, 2020 (M1 chip) and 2009 with El Capitan. What would be the best fit: version of Protools and OS? Thanks

PT10 or older should work, but I don't know of it works with El Capitan. For sure, the M1 is not going to work. I used to keep an old G4 with an Mbox 2 in the closet just for opening and converting SD II sessions(maybe someone in your area has an older setup for the same purpose)
