HELP ME PLEASE Entry Point Not Found?????

Hi folks,
I've been having some problems with Pro-tools, here's the highlights:

One day Pro Tools doesn't open. No error message, just nothing happens.
I try to uninstall protools but it stays in the remove/add programs folder.
Finally get Pro Tools totally removed thanks to this forum, (thanks to all who helped.)
Try to reinstall Pro-tools but the intallation process never completes itself, it always freezes at the same point (when the bar is full of green blocks.)
The Pro-tools icon is on the desktop but Pro tools doesn't open.
So i download a Pro-tools torrent and try to run that.
I get alot of pop ups about the M-Box which i just click ok for.
The screen says Pro-tools is installed and reboots. I rejoice.
Pro-tools once again does not open. I dispare.
I uninstall pro-tools again.
I install pro-tools from the CD which seems to work.
Computer reboots.
I try to open Pro-tools and am greeted with:
ProToolsLE.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure untry point_DsiSetThreadPriority@12 could not be located in the dynamic link library DSI.dll.

Please help me. I spent alot of money on Pro-tools and the MBox and can't help but feel it's been a waste of money.

Gonkboy,
You may have to tell the whole story again from the start. I seem to remember seeing your earlier postings with PKNuk but don't recall the system report and history details.

And if you haven't heard this before, PT LE is notorious for being difficult to get running. But once (...if and when) you work out all the compatibility issue it is a very good application. Worth the effort given that you have already invested the cash.

I'd lay odds that you have an incompatible plug-in or somehow got a mismatch install from different versions. Do a clean uninstall and reinstall with just the basic plug-ins.. make sure that works.

How Ironic I'm having the same problem same issues i never had a problem with protools until this is this the only method because this didnt work for me i wanna flush my system im so mad right now

Got Internet Explorer 8 on that system? If so, uninstall and see how that works....

The torrent you downloaded my have left traces in your Windows registry prohibiting PT from being installed. Dont use torrents. If your dvd dont work, download it off your Mydigi page, or atleast look for a .rar version of PT. I complete reinstall of Windows may help if you got the disc.

Thanks for the help even though the i did have internet explore 8 i deleted it and the problem stir occured As far as the torrent goes i purchase my protools from GC everytime i uninstall and reinstall i get the same message Imhst going to restore the whole c drive even though I'll lose a lot thanks guys I'll check back periodically to see if anyone has a solution

I hope you mean UNINSTALLED it...if you DELETE a program,you'll remove a bunch of critical dll's with it and you'll have LOTS more things not work. Did you uninstall IE8 or just delete the shortcut?

I uninstalled it thru the control panel and deleted the shortcut lol
