Ok, upgraded to Catalina, The sad part with so much effort for past week , the same error...

2021-08-29 17:01:17 ERROR RendererExecutive - Audio device underrun

after upgrading to Catalina, Waves plugins stopped working, I was forced to pay Waves $350 to get annual subscriptions. It is just sick, I am tired with Dolby Atmos, it is just a poor product for me at this time. If you need hardware that costs $6500 there is no point. Already about 60% of money a studio earnings goes to pay for annual subscriptions for these software companies, like AVID, Waves and others. I wish they at least provide good support for the code they write. I am giving up, I have to go and apologize to my client and take a loss.
Sorry If I sound little annoyed. I am tired.

So sorry for your frustrations. I totally get it.

I’m sure you’re tapped out on dealing with it all but I would suggest re-installing the Dolby Production Sweet and Pro Tools if you did not already.

Generally speaking. A clean install of the OS is preferred but I understand you were in a hurry.

You haven’t mentioned at all how much processing Pro Tools is taking up in your session. You have a very old Mac that is most likely underpowered for what you are trying to do. Dolby even warns of this.

I have a single system PT and Renderer w/o any issues and I never get Renderer errors, even on Big Sur!

Keep trying and keep posting.

In addition. I’m sure a colleague would be willing to help you out in this situation so you don’t have to lose the work.

Thank you.

It is all committed files, no plugins at all.
CPU load is just low, i have enclosed the processing screen shot captured when the track was playing at its highest loudness

Ok. That’s good.

Can you just open a blank session w no audio and record in the Renderer? What happens then? You don’t actually need any audio to record a master file.

Re-install the Renderer? I always like to do fresh installs after an OS upgrade.

This feels to me like an issue with Dolby Audio Bridge. The data is not piping fast enough to the Renderer.

Catalina has different permission than High Sierra so doing a fresh install might help.

Ok, here we go, I tried 2 session, first one - just one stereo audio track,
it failed

2021-08-29 18:17:57 INFO MasterFileView - Arming record
2021-08-29 18:17:59 ERROR RendererExecutive - Audio device underrun
2021-08-29 18:17:59 ERROR AudioEngine - TC discontinuity. Expected: 172915860 actual: 172916371

Then I cleared the audio and just played an empty session as you suggested. It failed after about 25 seconds or so. (you can see the time gap from recording-arming to ERROR below)
2021-08-29 18:18:03 INFO MasterFileView - Arming record
2021-08-29 18:18:29 ERROR RendererExecutive - Audio device underrun
2021-08-29 18:18:29 ERROR AudioEngine - TC discontinuity. Expected: 174016255 actual: 174016767

There is some major flaw in the plugin that i am unable to find. it is bug or something, without any audio or any plugin in the session, it is throwing AudioEngine underrun.

And you re-installed the entire Production Suite package?

Is the TC plug-in on an audio track or aux track?

What channel are you sending the TC to the Renderer?

If you’re willing to try, can you go to

McIntosh HD/library/Extensions and delete the DolbyAudioBridge.kext file

Then just reinstall only the DAB from the installer package.

Making sure to close everything before installing. Then do a reboot.

Change the LTC to 129 or 130 and make sure to select that input on Renderer as well.

I’m assuming you have the same frame rate in both your PT session and Renderer.

When you reboot, launch the Renderer first, then Pro Tools.

Turn off headphone processing and any live re-renders in the Renderer.

Try again.
