Default Digital music restrictions suck

i really can't stand all the restrictions the music from sites like buymusic.com and such have. and the thing is, EACH song has a DIFFERENT set of restrictions. >_<.

but here's the iTunes scoop:

"Jobs secured uniform licensing deals from all the record companies that allow all iTunes songs to be burned onto CD an unlimited amount of times, save for a restriction for making multiple CDs with the exact song lists. All songs on iTunes can also be transferred to up to three different computers and to the iPod, a portable digital music player."

as much as i despise all things Apple, i can't wait til iTunes.com is available for PC. only then will i buy songs over the internet.

how bad is Windows audio format? I know a new PC based service just came out using that format.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">okay, now wait a minute, their Powerbook/Powermac lines are not necessarily so incredibly "reasonable" in pricing.

yes they are if you compare the specs of the systems.

Anyway the www.buymusic.com is following the footsteps of Apple's iMusic.

But how does wma sound?

WMA is an MPEG-4 derivative, which I find better at low bitrates (but still intolerable) and no better at high bitrates (256+) than MP3.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Apple's format for the files on iTunes.com sound better than WMA.

buymusic.com is so much worse than uTunes.com, because of the really ridiculous restrictions (that also vary for each song!) that i allude to at the top of this topic.
