Can't open protools says missing ilok but its there HELP!!!!

Was working in PT and it stopped mid session and said cannot find ilok please insert and save. I rebooted and hoped it would work again but i can't open PT. Says ilok not there. I go into ilok license manager and it shows my ilok connected and all of my licenses on there. Tried reinstalling ilok drivers and manager, tried different usb ports. Any ideas?

Sounds like the same issue many have hit with the update of iLok's manager. Step #1 is to open a case with ilok. Step #2, if you have a spare iLok(and you SHOULD), drag the PT asset from the old one to the spare, and then drag it back. Note that starting with PT 11(assuming you have not upgraded), you will need to have an iLok 2(the new smaller one), so if you only have 1 old one, I would buy a new one, register it to your account, connect both(old and new) and drag all licenses from the old iLok and drop them on the new one.

Steve also make sure you have any power saving for the USB ports tuned off. Almost sounds like the computer might be putting the port to sleep mid session.

Does rebooting the computer and relaunching Pro Tools work?

In the license manager compare the total number of activations it shows in the left side under your ilok both logged into your account and logged out. If it's different, log in and do a sync repair. I would do this before attempting to move anything.

thx guys got it working with your advice. Looks like all i had to do was hit sync repair. Had a PT 9 license for my main computer and a 10 one for my laptop. Found it interesting it wouldn't work on either. All good now..
