Success!!!
I was able to change the sub channels in the Audio Midi Setup to use the ART Pre instead of the the system mic and speakers and it seems to be working, even though the labels are wrong. I have input!

Thanks! You are brilliant

Steve

Sub-devices, not sub-channels

You will want to check drift correction for both of the devices.

Your device should also be showing 2 outputs.
It did in your first set of pictures.

FYI, the majority of this problem was traced to a bad interface. The ART Pre Pro was giving me all sorts of problems and I didn't realize that was the source of the trouble. Replace it with a Scarlatt solved the input problems

I'm having a similar issue with a brand new M-Audio M-Track Solo I just got. I've followed this thread (thank you all). Prior to following this thread I was stuck at not being able to record-enable my track, but I followed the steps in this thread to set the hardware and playback engine to the Pro Tools Aggregate I/O and set the subdevices to the USB AUDIO CODEC input and output with drift correction enabled on both. Although I can now get to Track > I/O > Interface. I only have 2 options (In1 and In2). I tried both and am not getting a signal in the track when I record-enable. I'm plugged into Line 2 on the interface (Hi-Z setting). And I do see the signal light on the interface light up when I play. I can also hear myself through the headphones, plugged into the interface.

I am a total newbie here, so if anyone can help, that would be awesome. I hope it isn't hardware related like with the OP.
