Default Can you open a PT9 session on PTHD running PT8?

Sorry for the dumb question, but can you open a PT9 session on a PTHD system running PT 8.1.x? I've got a session coming in on PT9 and I'm hoping not to encounter weirdness if my HD system runs the session on PT8. Thanks in advance for any help...

Yes. You'll just get the "this session was made on an newer version of Pro Tools" message. There's almost no difference in functionality between the two versions.

Yes, works fine. Even back to PT 8.01.

Thanks so much, everyone. Just wondered if I'd encounter any special problems, but it appears as though I'm cleared for takeoff!

You may have to reset your I/O settings, especially if moving from an LE session to an HD session. The I/O preferences for different control surfaces will not automatically update when importing a session from another system. For instance, if you recorded in PT 9, using an mbox mini, and imported that session to PT 8, with a 192 I/O, the session I/O in the HD system will mirror the settings in the LE session. You'll have to reset all your inputs, and outputs in order to have them available on the new system.

Yes, I did this yesterday. Works like a charm. Like someone has stated above, reset your I/O and you are all good!
