Question Opinions?

I've done much research on these...and I've decided to pick up a pair of Yamaha HS50M monitors. Anyone have experience with these? I will be using them in addition with the existing pair of Behringer Truth B2301's I have.

I have them and I love them, just make sure you use them standing up right and not sideways, they sound great to me, Enjoy...

Thank you my friend! Advice well taken!
They have nothing but excellent reviews in the (honest mix) department!

They will sound light in the low end next to the Behringers(which are a bit hyped). But the difference may help expose mix issues anyway. Its tough for any 5" woofer to sound full without a sub, but the Yamaha's are plenty decent.

All I've heard is nice things about these and the HS80's. Supposed to be a good follow on for the NS10s.

Yeah that's what I've come to expect, that's kinda why I wanted to A/B them for tracking... and mixes as well. Thanks to you, Justus and Sunburst79 for the helpful info

The NS10s were the most awesome monitors ever! I wish I could get my hands on a pair. If you could get a good mix on NS10s, it would sound great on ANY system. I've heard the HS80s are very similar, but haven't experienced them myself. Let us know what you think once you've broken them in.

Here's the follow-up:
These monitors are (so far) incredible. I broke them in listening to three days worth of albums I've listened to since I was a kid. And I heard things I've never heard before! Especially EQ, panning, and other effects..
Playing with the switches on the back will create different results of course, however, I boosted my mid switches to +2db (I read somewhere that it closely resembles the NS10's) and you wouldn't believe it. Every ugly ... and all ugly... comes out. I listened to older albums and newer (the System of a Down album Mesmerize was brutally "truthful") and others sounded way different...
Also don't be fooled by their size..they crank plenty of mixing volume and have decent bass response...
I'm currently doing a test mix to learn the speakers (fyi I have a treated room and MoPads) but it is well worth the $400 so far...

I mostly do instrumental rock....
But I can tell you these will not disappoint..everything just comes out!
If you have a treated room, they deliver and translate like a sic mofo..
