sync midi drum tracks to wav tracks
I am running 6.1 and recorded wav information for toms, snare and kick from a Clavia Ddrum4 with live cymbals and hi hats. I also recorded the midi information. Well the drummers track was a little choppy so I want to use the midi tracks. When I quantize the drums, they are out of timing with the audio cymbals. I think the delay is on the midi tracks. What is the best way to take advantage of the midi functions like quantize. Do I nudge the audio cymbals to match the quantized drums or if I nudge the midi drums to match the wav cymbals. If I nudge to the cymbals will I lose the ability to quantize based on true time in the grid? Is there a way to calculate the offset or is that just a hit and miss kind of thing you just need to keep playing with?
Thanks for the help! |

Re: sync midi drum tracks to wav tracks
if everything is lined up to the grid except for midi, then by all means, move the midi to the audio, not the audio to the midi..
there is something called global midi offset. It does what it says, offsets all midi notes/tracks by a specified amount.. i believe it is in preferences under midi.. hope that helps tim |
