PTLE 6.4 w/Pentium D not working
Hello, I've noticed some people saying they're running dual core Dell's w/ LE 6.4 and the Digi 001. I have the Dell Dimension e510 with the pentium D, 1gb of ram, and plenty of hard drive, but my pc just shuts down and gives a blue error screen when I try to run Pro tools. Hyper-threading is disabled and I replaced Media Center with XP Pro, but still nothing. If anybody could help me I'd greatly appreciate it.

Re: PTLE 6.4 w/Pentium D not working
with a new install you likley have SP2 so do you have all the CS updates installed?
its impossible to come up with anything else with out full specs of your system. |

Re: PTLE 6.4 w/Pentium D not working
As well as the correct cs updates, you have to turn off one core of your dual. Only PT LE 7x will take advantage of and be able to use both cores of the Pentium D and your 001 can't use anything above 6.4 cs6+cs9.
Cheers,

Re: PTLE 6.4 w/Pentium D not working
Thanks a lot for replying. Call me an idoit, but what do you mean by CS updates? How do I know if I have them? I'm pretty sure my XP install did have Sp2 with it. I'll try to disable one of my processors and see if that does the trick. If not you'll probably hear back from me. Thanks again

Re: PTLE 6.4 w/Pentium D not working
Pro Tools Customer Support (CS) updates (click here)
These are bugfix releases of Pro Tools, and it is usually a good idea to apply them. It is especially important to install them for 6.4, because 6.4cs9 was the first version to support XP SP2. Make sure you also update your PACE drivers from www.paceap.com
