Default Copying Pro Tools Preferences

Bought a new Mac Studio that will be here today and I'm starting fresh with everything instead of copying from time machine. Is there a way to copy my current Pro Tools preferences to my new computer?

I haven't used it for this particular thing, but Pete Gates' PT Prefs program allows backup and restore of preference files - might be a simple way to handle it. http://petegates.com/pg-pt-prefs.html

Depends on whether or not you’re transferring from the same version of Pro Tools on both machines.

Some prefs are not the same in 2022.10 vs older versions.

If this is the case I suggest taking screen shots of your Preference panes and just manually visually copy them. This won’t take that long.

Copying prefs from an older version of PT to newer may cause issues.

Agreed, it's better to not try and copy the prefs. It's a pain but if you did and ran into a problem the first trouble shooting step would be to delete them anyway

This can be done in SoundFlow. There is a Preferences App where you can save four different sets of preferences.
