Another alternative is some type of NAS box for the stuff you want to archive.

From a pack rats point of view only keeping the current installers on the system and any previous versions on a server make sense.


And I can relate. I got bit by system drive creep just yesterday. The PT11.0.2 installer wouldn't complete and told me I was out of room. Some where along the line my once commodious system drive had dwindled to 732mb of free space. So a clone is in order.
