Default Midi patch names :: nothing works!

And I'm getting really sick of it.

I did the editing of the "middev file" in order to add a Roland XV-88, I followed it to the letter. Nothing. ProTools actually just quits now when I go to select an output on my Midi track. I tried doing a 1080/2080/3080, since they all have a similar sound engine, nothing. I either get an error that the model doesn't match, or that there was a problem loading the patch.

F***!!!!!!

There's a chance that your file may be working if you've made edits since trying it originally. Make sure you COMPLETELY trash and reconfigure all of your MIDI setup in AMS after making changes to the midnam/midev files. I ran into problems as you're experiencing because of this a while ago. Of course, that was in a while ago (PT6.2 and 10.2.x I think) so it may be different now, but worth a shot. Seemed to be an issue with the stuff caching in the AMS setup which caused errors forcing PT to crash.
