record a bleep at a silent part on all tapes

the bleep is easy to line up

man....we have countless 24track adat sessions. adat tapes everywhere. But yo........the reason i love using the BRC is that we recorded all our adat sessions, sync'ed to bars/beats/ticks. Its very easy to sync everything to it.

but it u only have one machine and 3or4 tapes, try this:
rewind the tapes to the very begin;
fast for to the just before the song;
set a locate point at the spot and take note of the counter;
record the first 8 tracks;
then,
pop in 2nd tape;
rewind to very begin;
then pass locate, which should bring the tape to the same spot the first tape started;
record the 2nd 8 tracks;
then
repeat for each other tape.

It should get the tracks very close to sync which u can adjust if needed be hand.
If you have to adjust them, GROUP each set of 8 tracks so that u are moving that whole ADAT tape and not individual tracks. ex: if you have recorded 3 ADAT tapes into protools, you should have three sets of grouped tracks containing 8 tracks each. you should any have to adjust the 2nd and 3rd group to sync up to the 1st group.
