VCA Meters Misaligned in PT 2021.10 on Big Sur [PT-279918]

Oddly I have never seen this on 2021.10 and Big Sur 11.6.1. Now on 2021.12 and 11.6.2 and getting the weird meter screen drawing on VCAs and sends. Touching the send fader fixes them. resizing the track size (edit window) or toggling narrow mix window on/off fixes the VCA meters.

Not a show stopper but really annoying for something that I spend so much money on.

It’s possible that prompting Pro Tools to re-draw the window layout boundaries may help snap the graphics back into place. I had some success correcting a similar GUI issue by resizing the misaligned window.
For me the misalignment primarily affected the edit window when switching between different window configurations.

Just seems like 2021.12 doesn’t play nice with window config templates from past versions. Once I resized the misaligned windows and updated window configs, alignmenmt fell back into place.

Not sure if this fix applies to all GUI missalignment issues but it’s worth a shot.

I'm having a similar problem when in the relink window. I first need to move the window around a bit to refresh it otherwise everything is a bit off. if I try to click on say, a drive, it selects another part of the window. Same happens when I switch back to my edit window. I need grab the menu bar on the edit window and move it a bit to refresh it.
This is on a 2019 MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.6.2, PT Ultimate 2021.12.00

Ok so I have a solution

It seems to be some kind or GUI refresh glitch, that seems to be common with the import track problems

if you slide a normally working track from let's say the left of the weird track to its right, everything goes back to normal. It works for imported tracks that go kind of blank on the console, but also for VCA tracks with misaligned meters.

Also having a similar issue on Big Sur 11.6.2. I'm not seeing misalignment, but for me, the meters just aren't loading at all when importing tracks or creating tracks from track presets. Rearranging the track fixes it. But it's still annoying.

Easy fix, annoying but works. Take any track that works normally in the console and move it past the problematic track(s) (left to right or right to left). This apparently forces a refresh of the Gui and the artifacts disappear. Glitches in the edit screen seem to vanish when zooming tracks with the +/- in the bottom right hand corner of the edit window

Hey Everyone.

I am experiencing this as well. The PT tech support had never heard of it.

That being said. I did notice it (after) I imported a template from and earlier version.

There is a quick fix (all be it temporary). You can de-select the assigned subgroup, and re-assign it. Works like a charm. You will have to do it each time you open the session, but only takes a second.

I am so tired of this bug. Sure, there are easy workarounds, but with how many VCAs I use and how many sessions I go through every day, if this bug isn’t fixed in the next update, I will be extremely disappointed. It was painful waiting until December to not have it fixed. So if it becomes a lingering long time bug, I will be so frustrated.

The fact that you mention they weren’t aware of it is not promising.

Do you experience the bug with new sessions created within the current version, or only with templates or sessions created in an older version?
