Upgrading to V9 or V10 - Loop Region Question
We're currently running 8.0.4 on a Mac (OSX 10.6.8) and it's fine. There's one feature that we'd love to see and I'm wondering if it's been added to PT9 or PT10.
One of our studio owners likes to go in late at night, and record guitar takes. He has a track with an 8 count, sets everything into loop record, and then does take after take 'til he thinks he has what he needs. (Basically, he plays it through, the loop starts up and he here's the count off, and he plays it through again.) In the HD versions of Pro Tools, each time the track loops, it adds a new "take" with an incremental number. For example, if he's recording on Guitar.01, when it loops back, it creates a new sub-track Guitar.02; when it loops again, it creates Guitar.03, and so on. In the LE version of Pro Tools, at least V8, it makes a new region with each take but you then have to go and drag 'em in one at a time. Is the incremental take thing available in Version 9 or 10 for people who are still using Digi003 interfaces? Thanks for your advice, stu |
