Up until now, all of my K5 instances have been hosted in Reaper ReWired. I did test the AAX though, and it instantiated as expected.

I believe the automatic conversion means changing Kontakt 4 instances to Kontakt 5. Not sure though. I'm downloading 5.1 and will try it later, but I'm not using OS 10.8 yet because of all the reported Kontakt issues.

Seems like its working with no crashes.

BUT... Still unusable performance.

My 2.26ghz 8 core mac can't playback a very simple 4 bar loop using Alicia's keys, Studio Drummer and session strings pro only... No other plugins....

Thank god for VEP5...

What OS are you using? If its 10.8.x, were you getting similarly poor performance before Mountain Lion? I'm using Kontakt 5.0.3 on Mac OS 10.7.4 and Kontakt has always had solid performance in any host.

With 5.1 fixing Mountain Lion compatibility I can finally update, I just want to make sure the update is solid before reinstalling an entire OS!
