Power Harness Recall of the Recall !

IMPORTANT: There is currently a recall on the orginal Power Harness recall. Digi is now sending out new PWR Harnesses, and Power Supplies to people who have had this type of problem re-occur.

My warranty has lapsed, and Digidesign is still standing behind their equipment. That is impressive . .

Let's not get the language wrong - it's not a recall unless they notify all affected registered owners of the change. In the auto biz, I've heard this type of thing called a 'secret warranty'.

It's still a good thing, maybe this time they got it right. I think my 002 may be starting to act up again.

I think harness just went out on me after 2 years w/002, what are the symptoms?

heres whats happening, when powering on 002 the display LED shows braille dots and the second power on said validating and hung there, 3rd time nothing on display at all, wont even go in standalone mode.

That would be it booyah...unless you'reoverclocking or using over-voltage features in the bios, which can also cause this occasionally.

How much would they charge for this replacement harness being the 002 if out of warranty?

that's the beauty - they don't charge anything, because it's such a blatant screwup. Just call them, they'll take care of it.

BoYah . . Yes those are the symptoms . . Basically its works less and less each failure. By the bitter end all you end up with is a red mute light on the console . .thats it.

People - do not kill your self installling, and reinstalling or worse yet rebuilding your hard drive . .If your 002 keeps going offline i.e. not recognized or you are reduced to just a mute light . . then this is your problem
