digi02 connected to Apogee Ensemble
Saw a schematic yesterday on the Apogee site about using both the Digi02 and the Ensemble together, connected via ADAT. Ensemble provides all the d/a-a/d conversion plus all the preamp connections, and Digi02 remains in the loop mostly as the Protools hardware connection. I'm curious if anyone here is using this combo of interfaces, and if there's actually any advantage to using the two of them strung together, versus just using the Ensemble by itself.
I am asking, because I plan to purchase an Ensemble sometime in the next 6 months, and use it with Protools 9 on a new, as yet not-purchased mac desktop. Once i have all this new hardware, I was planning to trash my very dated Digi02, only because I don't know what else to do with it. So I'm curious if I might actually benefit by making this rather sophisticated connection of the two interfaces? |
