PT 6.7 will be shown at AES but maybe they will put the info up a little earlier since Cubase, Sonar, Logic and DP have all moved up to a new version.

I just did 35 licenses in July!
Pro Tools Still Kicks for productivity!
For the soft synth/sequencer route, Logic is looking much more attractive for our next upgrade.
MOTU upgrade 149.00 per license
Logic Pro 299.00 EDU full entry cost Plus for lesser systems Express @ $99.00 EDU
My only Logic dislike (in an educational setting) is the open USB-Key on all the computers.

Yikes!

That could null the cheaper price pretty quick. Damn hungry students! Have you ever expressed that concern to Apple? They haven't had Logic too long and they are pretty into the whole educational thing. They may listen and be open to suggestions.

Good luck

Sounds like MOTU has finally addressed all of the DAE/TDM issues I've had since I bought my Mix Plus system about 5 years ago. I stopped using DP as a front end because of all the problems I had. I still think the latest version of Logic looks pretty amazing. Any Logic users out there know if Logic supports all of the TDM features that DP will now support?

The big thing DP 4.5 seems to have over Logic is the delay compensation and the beat detection. Neither of these things seems to be in the Logic software. Although PT 6.4 still kicks DP in the delay comp dept. because it allows for outboard to be used as insert effects in real-time.

Default DP 4.5 Released!

This is great news for all those DP users as the front end for Pro Tools.
It sure seems lovely and should have been called version 5 instead of 4.5
Lots of real nice features added primarily Auto Delay Compensation, simple Beat Detection, elastic loop adjustment, and Full TDM support.
I was just about to migrate solely to PT mainly because of all the above features not being supported by DP.
Now I feel much better not having to deal with limited MIDI features in PT.
Looks promising, now lets hope that it performs as well as what is stated on the MOTU website.

Seems like DP is leaning more towards Digi as Logic is turning away and starting to look more like Garage Band.

MOTU says it's a free upgrade if you purchased dp4 after July 1, 2004.
