Re: 2023 Apple Silicon and Pro Tools
Ha ha!
Another thread disappears down a reverb wormhole! I love Tai Chi and HD Cart. I wish TC would make an updated surround plugin version of the 6000 reverbs then my reverb needs will be filled forever (or not ). As already stated Relab are making a version of the 6000, but stereo only apparently. I guess that won't matter to most people, but it seems a missed opportunity for them to catch the film and TV post people that used to use the 6000.

Re: 2023 Apple Silicon and Pro Tools
I really like the TC DVR250 plug in.
It would be a bummer if it goes away.

Me too. I have a feeling that it will be on the list of plugins receiving an update. Fingers crossed.

Yeah we all wanted that. I have no idea why TC would squander the opportunity.

Re: 2023 Apple Silicon and Pro Tools
I thought for sure Relab would. Perhaps they still will at some point. Maybe they've not been able to get it to work without major hits to the CPU.

Re: 2023 Apple Silicon and Pro Tools
They need to pay the Apple Tax first. Once native, they can start planning of surround versions.

Re: 2023 Apple Silicon and Pro Tools
This has been a great read. I had a hackintosh that finally died recently, due to budget constraints at the moment, all I could manage was an M1 Mini2nd hand. Its also only got 8Gb ram and 256Gb internal storage, so, the true base model, but, I have to say, i only do audio projects, not really any Virtual Instruments, usually live bands. But, 50+ tracks etcin a general project. Only really run Slate and SSL plugins, and neural DSP, thats pretty much is :) I like simplicity, and almost all of these are running native (apart from SSL Drumstrip and Guitarstrip).
But, the "requirements" say this is underpowered, and wont work, but, it completely monsters things. I was trying to find out in advance if it would work, everything apart from a couple youtube videos said no haha, but, it entirely does. Not had any glitches, struggles, or even the fan coming on. What a beast I want a Mac Studio but this will certainly keep me going, so, I would assume an M2 with 16Gb would be sweet! |
