Travel to London from US
I’m going to be working remotely from London and bring my gear with me. I will have plenty of travel adapters to go from US to UK and all my gear supports 220v.
My question is.. can I use a dump US power strip with a single Type G adapter to plug into UK power and then plug the rest of my gear into the US power strip? By “dumb” I mean a strip that has no circuit protection, lights, etc. it’s just a simple power strip with 6 outlets. Thanks for any input. |

UK Socket -> Plug adapter -> simple PDU (power distribution unit; the usual term for "dumb" power strips as you called it) -> devices that support 220V but through US plugs. Just be absolutely sure that all your devices have universal power supplies. Some do but have to have a switch flipped. I've seen the (sometimes) exploding devices when things go wrong (most of the time, the fuse can't catch that.)
